Within the Sydney Royal Gardens, a series of performance halls are placed in the landscape across the water from the Sydney Opera House. This new series of performance spaces must contend with the significant presence of the opera house that has been at the center of Sydney's identity for over 45 years.

To unify three disparate performance spaces, a monolithic bar captures the three halls in a plinth that cantilevers out from the peninsula, out over the Sydney Harbor, towards the Opera House. This monumental plinth become more of a landscape feature, rather than a building. It becomes a viewing platform for the public, and a new way to overlook the Opera House and the rest of Sydney's Harbor.
